EUROPEAN HUNTS
COTOS, SPAIN
COTOS,
SPAIN - 2 DAYS,
RED LEG PARTRIDGE
|
|

With six seasons now, we
believe Cotos has matured into one of the absolutely top shoots in
Spain.
The shoot has three main
characteristics, which form what may be a unique blend: steep and rocky
ground, proximity to Madrid and a stunning private medieval monastery as
well as a modern hunting lodge in which to stay.
Cotos is situated on the western edge of Madrid Province, 115 km from
Madrid, (an hour and a half drive) and 80 km from Toledo, Avila and El Escorial., in the foothills of the Sierra Gredos. It occupies 14,000
hectares (35,000 acres) of wild and hilly country, much of which is rocky
and dramatic.
The lie of the land is ideally suited to showing all kinds of birds, and
there is a bewildering amount of different options for drives. We currently
use 30 different drives!. Although we recommend 8 guns in the line it is
possible to shoot from 6 up to 10 guns.
DATES AVAILABLE
Now through March 2007
HISTORY
This shoot belonged in the 80`s to the famous Sir Joseph Nickerson, a man
who took his sport as seriously as anyone can and is now ran by 8 full time
game-keepers who are full time employed, managed by the head gamekeeper,
Andres.
ACCOMMODATIONS
We have the choice of staying in a beautiful modern hunting lodge which
is located in the middle of the shoot or a private 16th century monastery
completely refurbished which belongs to a very well known Spanish family.
Both of them are excellent and you will be pampered by our professional
staff and will not take long to get to the drives due to its proximity.

The Estate is easily accessed from Madrid. It is little more than one
hour from central Madrid and 90 minutes drive from the airport, but
dependent on traffic. It can take longer in the rush hour.
